I had the honor of moderating a panel discussion entitled “SPARK Update…and More” at the Pennsylvania Library Association annual conference at the Kalahari Resort in the Poconos. Also, we enjoyed talking with everyone who came up to the PaILS booth in the Exhibitor Hall.

This attractive facility is located near a public park and, at the time I was there, was host to a visit by enthusiastic middle school students. The lower level is home to the Juniata County Historical Society. Lots of great SPARK libraries to visit!

The architects and builders did a beautiful job integrating the old and new to the point where I could not tell the two apart. Features include a water wall, an antique … Read More

PaILS Is Sponsoring Two Development Projects
One nice thing about open source software is that, if you don’t like the way it works, you can change it. PaILS, on behalf of its members, is sponsoring two software development projects. The first, Digital Book Plates, seeks to address the problem of how to show that an item was donated in memory or in honor of someone. Unlike the current solution, Digital Book Plates will be searchable by … Read More
